Dog-friendly apartment complexes, including one in Nashua, NH, are using doggie DNA to expose which resident was responsible (irresponsible?) for failing to pick up their dog’s droppings. Then they slap ’em with a fine as high as $1000.
Dog-owning tenants must submit a saliva sample of their dog using a “PooPrints” DNA sampling kit when they move into the community. It’s sent to BioPet to update the complex’s reference database.
Consumer Reports cited dog poop as #6 on the list of America’s Top Gripes in 2010. How seriously do apartment complexes take this?
The kitties thank you!
