Nemo’s happy adoption night 8 25 10

Mr. Pudgy Bunny is my best napping buddy!

Written by Nemo:

I’m a lucky cat. My family couldn’t keep me but Safe Haven took me in as their own.

I have lots of friends here but my very best buddy is Mr. Pudgy Bunny. When I arrived here I was scared to be in a new place but Mr. Pudgy was a great new friend and made me feel very welcome and comfortable. I like all the kitties here, but none of them are as comfortable and warm and cuddly as Pudgy. I love to knead on him and cuddle and nap with him.

I’m a smart cat, and I know that these Wednesday adoption nights can be busy, so Pudgy and I took a long nap so I would be in tip-top shape for company.

Meet Mr. Pudgy Bunny

There is nothing like a good cat nap to make a kitty feel rested and ready for anything. It was a rainy Wednesday and “purrfect ” weather for a cozy snooze. The rain dripped at the window and Mr. Bunny and I closed our eyes,  We napped and I had a dream.

Nemo’s dream

I dreamed I had a wonderful family of my very own.  Then the door opened into the adoption room and I woke up!

It was 5 PM. The adoption event was starting! The room filled with the happy sounds and sights of cat-loving friends looking for their lifetime family members.

The room filled with cat-loving people!

All the kitties greeted them. Even cats who were once feral, such as Sweet Pea, came out bravely to be loved.

Missy, a real beauty, caught everyone’s eye, and then May stole the show with a very nice family.

It was instant love when I met this family!

I waited my turn. Mr. Pudgy and I watched everyone and I then sensed some special people sitting on the sofa.

I winked at Pudgy and strolled off the table onto the sofa and sat myself down on the laps of two very sweet young girls.

They petted me. They liked me!

Mom thought I was adorable!

We seemed to be a great match! They talked to dad — and he grabs an adoption application! I hold my breath!
The volunteers get busy with the phone and paperwork.
I look over at Mr. Pudgy Bunny and see him looking back at me rather lonely. But soon I hear everyone talking about needing a second carrier for Mr. Pudgy Bunny! Yes! We are BOTH ADOPTED! We will both be going home tonight!
I stop to look at everyone in the kitty playroom. All my dear kitty friends I had lived with. My devoted volunteer family who cared for me and petted me, and gave me hope and love. They all stood looking at me smiling with teary eyes. Everyone was so happy for us!
This is exactly what I had dreamed about — and tonight it came true.
I have a family who will love me forever, and my best buddy will be with me to share my new life. Thank you, Safe Haven!
Love,

Nemo and Mr. Pudgy Bunny

We are adopted! Look at our wonderful family!
