Shop Hours

Our new Thrift and Treasure shop is located at 1616 Post Rd. (Rt. 1) Wells, just north of Rt. 109 (and Exit 19 of the Maine Turnpike). Telephione: 985-8781. We're open 10am- 4pm Mon-Sat. Closed Sundays. 

Adoptable cats and kittens are available to meet during shop hours. You can also drop off food, cash and shop donations whenever we're open. Thanks -- your generosity supports our NO KILL mission. 

Safe Haven is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization. That means donations are generally tax-deductible. But we can't give tax advice, so see your tax preparer for details. 

We gladly accept:

Antiques, collectibles, clocks, decorative items, china, glassware, pottery, lamps, linens, housewares, silverware, tablecloths, decorative pillows and throws, garden décor, holiday items (one season in advance only). Videos, DVDs. Ladies handbags, scarves, jewelry, hats. Small furniture (especially small benches, tables, bookcases, wall shelves). Pet gifts.

Sorry, we cannot accept: 

• No clothing
• No electronics, computers or peripherals
• No toys 
• No baby or children's furniture.

Cat food, scoopable litter and cat toys are always needed

Our wish list

• Canned cat food
• Purina One Dry cat food
• Scoopable kitty litter
• Gift cards (Wal-Mart, Stop & Shop, pet supply stores, etc.) 
• Kitty condos
• Volunteers to sew cat pads and beds
• Farms with caregivers for feral cats who cannot be socialized (although many can).

But most of all, we need more FOSTER HOMES and ADOPTIONS!
